With more than 26 years of medical experience, Dr. Shervin Mortazavi is not only a respected Internist based in Bronx, New York, but also a passionate advocate for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) striving to build successful careers in the United States.
Having navigated his own path as an IMG, Dr. Mortazavi understands the challenges new physicians face when adapting to the U.S. medical system. Today, he dedicates part of his career to helping IMGs strengthen their resumes, prepare for residency and fellowship interviews, and helping IMGs gain clinical experience in the US healthcare system.
His hands-on approach blends professional guidance with personal insight—offering real-world strategies that help aspiring physicians stand out with confidence and competence.
In addition to his mentorship work, Dr. Mortazavi was past President of The Bronx County Medical Society and continues to serve as Director of the Nursing and Rehabilitation Division at Essen Healthcare. His extensive leadership experience, hospital affiliations, and deep understanding of clinical practice in the U.S. make him a trusted resource for IMGs seeking both career advancement and community. Director of Post-Acute Care Services at Bronx care Hospital, Dr. Mortazavi has been the recipient of Achievement Awards from New York State Governor and New York City Mayor and has also received Congressional Special Recognition award from the United States Congress.
